CODING BIT BASES

CODAGE BASES BINAIRE

The most common binary system is the equivalent base two numeration position that we use base-ten in everyday life.

In this type of coding, each number is uniquely represented by an ordered sequence of numbers. And each number represents a power base. If one is limited initially to the positive integers, in base ten these powers are: (1) ten (represented by 10), one hundred (ten times ten, represented by 100), one thousand (ten times one hundred , represented by 1000) and ten thousand etc. Base two, these powers are: (1), two (also represented by 10), four (two times two, represented by 100), eight (twice four, represented by 1000), sixteen (two times eight, represented by 10000) etc.

We see that the meaning of the representations 10, 100, 1000, etc. depends on the base used: 10 is always equal to the base, that is to say, every ten base, but two base two.

In base ten, we need ten digits from zero to nine; base n, we need n digits from zero to n - 1; especially in base two, we need two numbers: zero and one.
